The sculptural bust of Diana the Huntress is an impressive statue dating back to the 4th century BC, by the Athenian sculptor Leochares.

Artemis was also considered the Goddess of the Moon, just as her twin brother Apollo was considered the Sun God. This is likely the most beautiful depiction of her fine features. The original of this Greek statue was found in Emperor Hadrian's villa at Tivoli, near Rome. It's now housed at the Louvre Museum.

Diana, in Roman mythology, is the Goddess of wild animals and the hunt. Her name resembles the Latin words dium ("sky") and dius ("daylight"). As a fertility deity, she was invoked by women to aid in conception and childbirth. Diana was identified very early with Artemis. There was likely no original link between Diana and the moon, but she later absorbed Artemis's identification with Selene and Hecate.
